Gentlemen,

I am looking for a cost effective method to reduce the TDS of well water from 4000 to 1500 PPM. The water is used for irrigation ( high consumption ) Any suggestion ?

Thanks

You should blend the waters togeather to obtain lesser overall TDS.
I would use high pressure RO for anything from 1500 to 2000 PPM TDS but after that you will need to consider brackish RO for anything over 2000 PPM TDS.

I believe your question is how to REDUCE well water TDS from 4,000 to 1,500 ppm. As David suggests use a brackish RO and if it is important for the TDS to be 1,500 ppm, then blend the RO product back with the raw water to achieve that. That is unless there is something else in the water analysis that would exceed the requirements of the application.

High consumption" isn't very clear to me. Is that like 1,000 gallons/day or 10,000 GPD? We will have "high amount" of waste water to contend with. Water temperature? Year around or seasonal?
